šŸ›Žļø 3 Simple Ideas For Your Next Social Media Post šŸ“²

I went trend-hunting outside hospitality—here are three ideas you can steal and implement this week!

Sometimes it can be tough to come up with another idea for your social media. Believe me, I’ve been there. At my peak, I was managing 25+ hospitality brand accounts—and coming up with something new and creative every week? It felt impossible.

But here’s what I’ve learned: you don’t always have to reinvent the wheel. Riding trends is absolutely okay. Especially if you find them in other industries and translate them to hospitality.

So in today’s email, I’m bringing you 3 creative post ideas, all borrowed from outside the hospitality niche. Let’s dive in! šŸš€

3 Content Ideas From Other Industries ā¤µļø

1ļøāƒ£ Give Them Something to Vote On

People love to participate in trends. ā€œThis or thatā€, ā€œleft or rightā€ā€¦ If it’s a simple poll, they won’t hesitate to choose.

The easiest way to do this is by making a story with a top and bottom photo, and letting people choose. Something like this:

How to recreate this:

  • Make sure you have 2 good photos that you can use in the story

  • They should relate to each other, for example, breakfast versus dinner, two different types of lunch plates, two different cocktails, tables, hotel rooms or views, etc.

  • Create a story and tap on layout. Change it to two photos.

  • Add your two images

  • And add the poll. You don’t have to type in a question at the top, but of course, feel free to do so! Especially if you think it’ll help to make it clearer what people are voting on.

Level it up further:

You could also recreate the post below.

The easiest way to do this is to create the image in Canva. Instead of colors, you could add pictures of different moments at your accommodation, or different dishes at your restaurant (or even different types of lattes!)

The difference between this one and the poll, is that you’ll then add the ā€œadd your templateā€. You can see how to do this here. It’s easy!

2ļøāƒ£ How it Started vs How it Ended

I’m into running, so I see a lot of running content on my feed. This post recently went viral:

You could easily recreate this for your hospitality brand. Examples of ideas:

Food Coma

How it started: people/person extremely excited with multiple plates of food in front of them.

How it ended: person in a slight food coma on their chair/bench/sofa/bed

Cocktail Menu

How it started: Person looking at cocktail menu. Inaudible (just add some music). Text on screen: ā€œOkay, but just one!ā€.

How it ended: Person happily having another cocktail, with clearly a few empty glasses in front of them.

There’s much more that you can do here. From check in to happy in bed. From ā€œwe’re going to wake up early!’ to ā€œThis bed is too comfyā€. Et cetera.

3ļøāƒ£ These people like [your brand name]

Alright, this one’s low effort, but a gem that I saved many moons ago, and one you can steal right now. Better be quick, before it goes viral!

You may think a post like this doesn’t work anymore, but they do. I see it plenty of times.

This one truly does not need more explanation. So go for it!

šŸ”‘ Key Takeaways

  • Don’t be afraid to adapt trends from other industries—you don’t need to reinvent the wheel.

  • Inject personality! Fun, relatable content often outperforms polished perfection.

  • Save posts that make you stop scrolling and reverse engineer why they worked.

āœ… Three Things You Can Do Right Now

1ļøāƒ£ Create a quick ā€œThis or Thatā€ Instagram Story using your most popular dishes, rooms, or views.

2ļøāƒ£ Recreate a ā€œHow it started vs How it endedā€ post—don’t overthink it, just grab two photos or video clips. Truly don’t have anything that would work? Then prepare a little shoot for tomorrow or this week!

3ļøāƒ£ Use the ā€œThe people like [your brand name]ā€ format and simply adjust it to your brand. Easy, fun, and potentially viral.

šŸ’ Final Thoughts

Last week, I experimented with a more tip-focused format—and since the response was solid, I’m keeping it going!

No deep brand breakdown today, just straight-to-the-point content ideas you can swipe and use right away. Think of these like creative espresso shots for your feed.. hehe.

As always, I hope it sparked something. Whether it’s a Story post, a Reel, or that cheeky ā€œthese people like usā€ meme—take one of these ideas and make it your own.

See you next week,
